“Although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him.” Romans 1:21
Do you ever get preoccupied with your own mistakes, flaws, failures, incapabilities, inconsistencies, inadequacies, unworthiness, sins?
Don’t!
Yes, confess whatever sins need to be confessed, but turn your hearts quickly toward God in praise and thanksgiving. Thank Him for His gift of righteousness that is yours “by faith from first to last” (Rom. 1:17). All of life will then fall into proper alignment.
Preoccupation with self leads to depression, anxiety, fear and hopelessness.
According to Paul’s words in Romans 1, a lack of praise and thanksgiving is the first step to a depraved life.
“For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Glorifying God and giving thanks to God leads to a life of joy, peace, hope, confidence, and courage.
Let praise and thanksgiving be a continual part of you from the time you first awaken until your last thoughts and prayers for the day.
Blessings,
Don Finto
