When Joshua was about to enter Canaan, the Lord gave him a sure path to success. “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it, then you will be prosperous and successful,” the Lord told him.
Meditate, think about, ponder the Word of God. Keep talking about it. Do not let it depart from your mouth. Be careful to do it. “Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
The first psalm has a similar promise, but the promise is given not just to one man, but to any man (person) whose “delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” That person will be like a well-watered tree beside springs of water whose leaf never withers and who never ceases to produce fruit in season. “Whatever he does prospers.”
Here is a sure promise from God for godly success and prosperity, and yet the great majority of believers in the West rarely pick up the Word of God to listen for God’s heart. I say “western believers,” because this would often not apply to those believers in persecuted lands. They pay a great price even to possess a copy of the Word.
Let me challenge you again to, “Have a reading plan!” Read it. Meditate on it. Let His thoughts permeate your thoughts. It’s a sure path to Godly success and prosperity.
